Here are pics of the mini fountains I mentioned earlier..I hung them from a window and caught their shadow on white paper at the other side of the room its interesting how light changes:) I quite like how they turned out very little and dainty:) I like this because its the opposite to the actual fountain witch is huuuge! and to me it still works:) the backdrop is spraypainted lace that i started expirimenting with! I find it also worked well as it follows the delicate fancy decorations on the fountain!!

more lanterns!!
Alrighty so I found this really cool old broken lamp that my mom was throwing out so I made a candlelit lantern out of it! It was pretty simple but I love it! I just put stensils of the fountain around it and let the light shine through!:)
Lanterns!!
Ok sooo... I started cutting mini fountain stensils from white card to make mini 3D fountains!:) as I went along I realised the card with the shapes cut out was pretty interesting in itself and I started thinking what way i could use them?? ... I figured I wanted to go along the line of casting shadows as I thought these would be ideal for this...but instead of just using them alone to cast the shadows I decided to add light! in the form of candles.:) Im pretty happy with the results it was a pretty fun process!

Larger scale!!
I comleted a series of silluettes using a very delicate paper stensil I made. I really liked the results and plan on doing more. IT was very time consuming... It took most of a week to finish cutting all the intricate desins!! I thouroughly enjoyed the process though and am happy with the results!! The paper, as it was so delicate, curled very interestingly(Ill look for some pictures!!) Heres some of while their being sprayed an some results!!
shaddows!!
I began cutting paper stensils of designs I found interesting on the fountain. The design and detail is really amazing and uncharactoristicly delicate for cast iron. When I had them cut I started playing with lighting and photographing the wonderfuly dainty shadows I saw. This is really fun i plan on persuing this further mayby photoshopping the images??
larger scale!
My first attempt at a large scale went well. I sprayed the stensil and used it then seperately and found it caught interesting shadows... Looking into this further.
After spraying the stensils i began to think of what i would do with them next... So I explored different papers to spraypaint onto. I found the satin sheen spraypaint had an interesting reaction to newspaper blacking out the words completely in parts but subtley fading them as the piant gradually got thinner. Then when I feel i have enough copies of that stensil I stick them down creating a silluette image with the stensil itself. I feel after expirimenting at small scale I want to work much bigger!! As the fountain itself is quite large this should be a good path!!
spraypainting
After cutting some stensils in a small scale i began to think how i would go about making my silluette image. I chose to use a satin finish spraypaint as I thought its coverage would be ideal for imprinting the stensil and leaving a monotone silluette image.
silluettes
After taking the colour out of the object I really focused on the distinct silluettes i was seeing. I found the shapes created by making this form 2D and monotone really eyecatching so I worked twards this theme by making myown stensils to create a silluette look.
